Distribution
The British specimen of L. hirsutus is a female collected in a pitfall trap on Brandon Heath, Norfolk in 2017. The species is widespread in Europe although absent from the Iberian Peninsula and parts of central and South-East Europe.Habitat and ecology
In Norfolk it was recorded from a small bare ground scrape in Calluna- Cladonia heathland. In Europe it is frequently found on sandy coastal sites but is also recorded from inland sites in France and Germany.Status
