Distribution
The species is widespread in central and south-eastern Britain becoming scattered in the north. It is a Holarctic species widespread in Europe.Habitat and ecology
W. atrotibialis occurs beneath heather, on calcareous and other grasslands, in boggy or marshy ground, wetlands, fens and sometimes woodland. Adults are found in summer with a peak between June and August.Status
