The article content type is used mainly for time-sensitive content such as news about new surveys etc. Article summaries (called 'teasers' in Drupal) are published to the home page of the website with a link to the full article. There are four fields in this content type.
- Title
- Document date
- Body
- Teaser image
The title and body fields are covered in the general content creation help page.
The document date field serves two purposes. Firstly it is displayed at the top of this content type so that readers can get a feel for it's current relevancey. Secondly the home page uses this date to order the teasers - so the most recent is displayed at the top of the homepage. To set this field either type the date directly into the box (in the format dd/mm/yyyy) or click on the box and use the date selector that appears to pick a date.
The teaser image field allows you to pick an image to display in the teaser shown on the home page. Use add media button to pick an image. This is very similar to the process of adding image to body content (but without the complication of specifying how it is to be displayed). To remove articles from the home page, uncheck the promote to front page checkbox under promotion options.
