Lifelong interests in zoology, ecology and conservation, specialising in invertebrates
and birds. Graduate of The University of Manchester, with a degree in Zoology.
Previous contracts in habitat assessment and surveying. Maintained and developed
interests and experience in own time, during many successful years in finance and
business management. Going forward will be working in surveying, species
identification and recording, focusing on spiders, harvestmen, beetles, flies, other
invertebrate groups, and birds. Also interested in rewilding and gardening for
wildlife, with a healthy hatred of concrete and unnecessary ‘hard landscaping’.
Glad to be able to support the BAS in Council again, having previously held Council
and regional roles from 2010 to 2014.
