Council members are displayed on this page. Technically, the page is a Drupal 'view' which collates separate items of the Council member content type - in this case as a table. Each council member is represented by a separate Council member item.
Adding or editing a council member (i.e. a row in the table) is easy. There are only four fields.
- Name - mandatory field for the name of the council member.
- Position on council - an optional field describing the members position on the council. This is a free format field.
- Bio - a mandatory field with some information about the member.
- Photo - an image of the council member.
The Bio field allows you to format text, but for a consistent house style, this should be used sparingly, if at all.
The image field does not specify an image size - the images are resized when displayed on the page. For best results use a square image. The image will normally be displayed at around 200 pixel width. So it is best to use an image no smaller than this. In the interests of speed of page loading, do not upload very large images. (Although the images are resized in the browser, large images still have to be downloaded to the browser before resizing.)
